Genre not synchronized to iPhone

Dear support,

I use MediaMonkey to synchronize .mp3 files to my iphone. I use genre tags.
I recently saw that new .mp3 files are not synchronized to the genre folder on my iphone.

My iphone has iOS version 18.3.1, MediaMonkey has version MediaMonkey for Windows 2024.1.0.3107 Beta.

Hi,

I tested this with iOS 18.3.1 (iPhone 13) and if Genres are enabled in iTunes Music > Library, then the tracks synched via MMW 2024.1.0.3107 display correctly in the various Genres. (note: in the sync profile > tagging, I have 'Use only the first Genre when multiple Genres exist' enabled).

Assuming you have the above default settings, could it be that you have multiple Genres per track and are searching for Genres other than the primary one?

Still it's not working, I tried the following:
- iTunes wasn't installed, because I used the iTunes components to synchronize my iphone with MediaMonkey.
I installed iTunes desktop version 12.13.5.3 (not the version from the Windows store).
- I pointed the iTunes library to the folder with all my .mp3 files.
- I deleted all .mp3 files from my iphone and synchronized again. But still not all .mp3 files are in the genre folders, while in iTunes all files are in the correct genre folders.

I will delete all music from my iphone this weekend and will synchronize again.

I deleted all music from my iPhone, synchronized again with MediaMonkey, but still many songs are not in the genre folders. There are songs in the genre folders, but not all of them.

I found the cause of the issue: all mp3 songs without an album name in the tag are not listed in a genre folder.
I added an album name to some mp3 songs, and after a sync they were listed in a genre folder.
Does anybody know how to fix this, or to automatically add an album name to mp3 files without an album name in the tag?

You can use Tag from Filename if the folder names contain the Album, or use Auto-Tag to get Album from the internet.
