Windows 4.1용 MediaMonkey부터는 설치 서비스를 사용하여 기본 메뉴의 도구 > 옵션 > 미디어 공유 에서 Windows 서비스로 DLNA/MediaMonkey for Android Wi-Fi 동기화를 활성화할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 하면 Windows용 MediaMonkey 자체가 실행 중이 아닐 때에도 다른 기기가 라이브러리에 액세스할 수 있습니다.
- MediaMonkey for Windows를 실행하는 데 사용하는 것과 동일한 Windows 사용자 자격 증명을 입력해야 합니다. 이렇게 하면 MediaMonkey 서비스에서 MediaMonkey for Windows 설정(미디어 공유 및 데이터베이스 포함)을 MediaMonkey for Windows 자체와 동일하게 사용할 수 있습니다.
- MediaMonkey 서비스는 Portable Installs에서 사용할 수 없습니다. MediaMonkey 서비스를 사용하려면 Windows용 MediaMonkey를 정기적으로 설치해야 합니다.
여러 사용자가 PC를 공유하는 경우, 모든 사용자에게 MediaMonkey 데이터베이스에 대한 동등한 액세스 권한을 부여하는 것이 좋습니다. 그렇게 하려면:
- MediaMonkey 데이터베이스 파일을 보안된 사용자 폴더가 아닌 중립적인 위치로 이동합니다. 예: " C:\MediaMonkey\ ".
- MediaMonkey가 데이터베이스를 읽는 위치 변경: MediaMonkey 데이터베이스 및 설정 파일 수정/기본 데이터베이스 위치 변경

As of MediaMonkey for Windows 4.1 it’s possible to enable DLNA/MediaMonkey for Android Wi-fi Synchronization as a Windows Service under Tools > Options > Media Sharing from the Main Menu by using Install Service, so that other devices can access the library even when MediaMonkey for Windows itself isn’t running.
- Make sure you enter the same Windows User credentials as you’re running MediaMonkey for Windows as, so that the MediaMonkey Service uses the same MediaMonkey for Windows settings, including Media Sharing and database as MediaMonkey for Windows itself.
- MediaMonkey Service is not available for Portable Installs. You’ll need a regular install of MediaMonkey for Windows to be able to use the MediaMonkey Service.
In cases where multiple users share a PC, it’s advisable to give all equal rights to access the MediaMonkey database. To do so:
- Move MediaMonkey database file to a neutral location (rather than a secured user folder). e.g. “C:\MediaMonkey\“.
- Change the location MediaMonkey reads the database from: Modifying the MediaMonkey database and settings files / changing the default database location
MediaMonkey 5+ can work with MediaMonkey Server which is currently in development: /forum/viewforum.php?f=31
